The President of the Republic of North Macedonia, Stevo Pendarovski, received today the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Finland, Pekka Haavisto.
At the meeting, the interlocutors discussed the bilateral relations between the two countries, which President Pendarovski assessed as friendly and at the level of partnership.
President Pendarovski expressed confidence that during the current Finnish Presidency of the EU Council, the progress of North Macedonia would be recognized, assessed and affirmed with a positive decision to start accession negotiations with the EU.
President Pendarovski stressed that North Macedonia highly appreciates the constructive, clear and unreserved support of the Republic of Finland on our path towards full membership in the European Union, stressing that the Euro-Atlantic perspective is a guarantee for the prosperity, stability and well-being of the region.
