The President of the Republic of North Macedonia, Mr. Stevo Pendarovski, received today Ylber Sela, Director of the Agency for Implementation of Languages spoken by at least 20% of the citizens of the Republic of North Macedonia.
At the meeting, the conditions regarding the application of the Law on the Use of Languages by the public institutions in the Republic of North Macedonia were discussed.
Director Ylber Sela informed President Pendarovski of the activities so far implemented, as well as the challenges and plans of the Agency regarding the implementation of the Law. He stressed the importance of the application of the Law by the institution of the President of the Republic of North Macedonia and expressed expectation that other institutions in the country will soon adapt their work in accordance with the Law on the Use of Languages.
The two interlocutors concluded that respecting the Law on the Use of Languages makes a significant contribution to the development and fostering of interethnic coexistence, as well as to achieving the strategic goals of the Republic of North Macedonia, full membership in NATO and the European Union.
