The President of the Republic of North Macedonia, Stevo Pendarovski, signed the Decrees for the proclamation of the Law on Coordination of the Security and Intelligence Community in the Republic of North Macedonia and the Law on the National Security Agency. These are the key laws for the reform in the security services.
The Law on Coordination of the Security and Intelligence Community, adopted for the first time in the Republic of North Macedonia, establishes a Coordination Council that will implement the proposals of the highest security body – the National Security Council.
The Coordination Council is consisted of all the institutions with competencies in the field of defense and security.
The Law on the National Security Agency precisely regulates the collection of data and information important for the security and defense of the state.
