The President of the Republic of North Macedonia, Stevo Pendarovski, received today a delegation from the Croatian Parliament, led by Domagoj Milosevic, Chairman of the Committee for European Affairs.

At the meeting, they exchanged views on the bilateral relations between the Republic of North Macedonia and the Republic of Croatia, whereby President Pendarovski expressed confidence that the traditionally friendly relations between the two countries will be further strengthened by intensifying the cooperation in all areas of mutual interest.

The interlocutors agreed that the progress of the Republic of North Macedonia in the EU and NATO will positively affect not only the internal social and political situation in the country, but also the stability and development of the entire region.

The Croatian MPS reaffirmed the unreserved support of the Republic of Croatia and expressed confidence that the European Council will set a date for the start of the accession negotiations of the Republic of North Macedonia, which is an example and a bright spot in the Balkans.

The meeting highlighted the contribution of minorities from both countries as a regional example of sincere friendship between the Republic of North Macedonia and the Republic of Croatia.

The interlocutors also discussed the economic cooperation between the two countries and pledged that in the future, new, joint projects and initiatives in the field of trade should be established.

The members of the delegation from the Croatian Parliament congratulated President Pendarovski on the occasion of his assuming of office and expressed their assurance for further deepening and expansion of the overall cooperation.
