President Stevo Pendarovski, from September 18 to 22, 2023, will lead the state delegation to the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
On September 22, 2023, Friday, President Pendarovski will address the General Debate of the 78th Session of the United Nations General Assembly, which is being held on the theme “Rebuilding Trust and Relaunching Global Solidarity: Accelerating Action on the 2030 Agenda and its Sustainable Development Goals towards peace, prosperity, progress and sustainability for all”.
Within the framework of the participation of the UN General Assembly, it is planned that President Pendarovski will have a meeting with the Secretary General of the UN, Antonio Guterres, at which President Pendarovski will award the United Nations Organization with the Order of the Republic of North Macedonia and will present the award to Secretary General Guterres.
President Pendarovski will address the Security Council at the open debate on the topic: “Maintaining the goals and principles of the UN Charter through effective multilateralism: maintaining the peace and security of Ukraine.”
President Pendarovski will attend the opening of the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development under the auspices of the General Assembly and will address the leadership dialogue “Increasing Key Transition Activities to Accelerate the Progress of the Sustainable Development Goals”.
During his participation in the UN General Assembly, President Pendarovski will hold bilateral meetings with heads of state, participants of the General Assembly.
The Macedonian state delegation includes the Deputy Prime Minister in charge of economic issues, coordination of economic departments and investments, Fatmir Bitici, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Bujar Osmani.
During the working visit to the USA, President Pendarovski will visit New Jersey, where he is scheduled to hold meetings with representatives of the Macedonian community, and he will also visit Chicago, where he will attend the humanitarian gala dinner “Paths to Prosperity” organized by the board of directors of “Macedonia2025” and will honor the CEO of Boeing, David L. Calhoun with the “September 8” Order.
During the working visit to the USA, President Pendarovski will be accompanied by his wife, Elizabeta Gjorgievska.
