Official handover ceremony was held today in the Cabinet of the President, in “Villa Vodno”, between the outgoing and the incoming President with the highest military and state honors.
After the official ceremony, the President of the Republic of North Macedonia, Stevo Pendarovski, held bilateral meetings with the President of the Republic of Bulgaria, Rumen Radev, and the President of the Republic of Albania, Ilir Meta.
At the meeting with the President of the Republic of Bulgaria, Rumen Radev, President Pendarovski expressed a strong determination for further strengthening of the good neighborly relations and deepening of the political dialogue with the Republic of Bulgaria. The two Presidents stressed that they will jointly commit themselves to promoting peace and stability in the region in order to accelerate its integration into the Euro-Atlantic structures. In that regard, President Pendarovski expressed his expectation that the support from the Republic of Bulgaria will continue in the future.
At the meeting with the President of the Republic of Albania, Ilir Meta, President Pendarovski stressed that the Republic of North Macedonia will further build mutual trust with the Republic of Albania and that North Macedonia’s NATO membership will be crucial for the security, peace and prosperity of the entire region.
Earlier, in the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia, on the occasion of the inauguration, President Pendarovski had a meeting with the President of the Republic of Serbia, Aleksandar Vucic. The two Presidents expressed confidence that the bilateral relations between the two countries will continue to be strengthened and that they will jointly contribute to intensifying the overall cooperation in all fields of mutual interest.
The three Presidents expressed heartfelt congratulations to President Stevo Pendarovski on his election and wished him successful performance of the office of President.
In the Assembly of the Republic of North Macedonia, President Pendarovski had a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic, Giorgos Katrougalos. At the meeting, the Head of Greek Diplomacy conveyed his congratulations to the newly elected President and wished him success in the performance of his duties. The two interlocutors expressed readiness for further improvement of the overall relations and political climate between the two countries.
Moreover, President Pendarovski held bilateral meetings in the President’s Cabinet with Srdjan Darmanovic, Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Montenegro, with Faruk Kaymakci, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey and Pyotr Wawrzyk, Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Poland. At the meetings with the foreign statesmen, the newly elected President of the Republic of North Macedonia, Stevo Pendarovski, expressed his gratitude for the congratulations and the honor, and shared his hope that the Republic of North Macedonia in the coming period will turn into a real modern European democracy and an equal partner of the member-states of NATO and the EU.
