8 December 2021 | Press Releases

President Stevo Pendarovski, on the occasion of the Christian holiday of St. Clement of Ohrid, sent a congratulation message to H.H. Stefan, Archbishop of Ohrid and Macedonia and of Justiniana Prima.

Your Holiness Stefan,

Allow me to congratulate you personally, the members of the Holy Synod of Bishops, all the clergy and monks and all believers of the Orthodox faith on the feast of St. Clement of Ohrid.

As one of the most prominent students and followers of the all-Slavic brothers, Saints Cyril and Methodius, Clement of Ohrid with the opening of the Ohrid Literary School, also known as the First University in the Balkans, left an invaluable contribution to the establishment of Slavic culture. His spiritual and literary work is permanently engraved in the Macedonian cultural heritage, but also in the history and tradition of many European countries.

The wisdom and teachings of St. Clement of Ohrid are grounded in the worldview of our people and our Macedonian Orthodox Church is developing on their values. Inspired by his work, in these complex times filled with many challenges, let us strive for a more dignified life, a life filled with good deeds.

Let us be in solidarity and united, let us pay attention to each other and to give each other love.

Many happy returns to this great holiday of St. Clement of Ohrid!

Stevo Pendarovski
