President Stevo Pendarovski received today the Minister of Defense of the Czech Republic, Lubomir Metnar.
Both interlocutors expressed satisfaction with the overall bilateral relations, based on mutual respect, friendship and understanding, while reaffirming the readiness to further intensify cooperation between the two countries in all areas of mutual interest, with emphasis on the defense sphere.
The importance of the Memorandum of Understanding for technical cooperation between the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Interior of North Macedonia and the Ministry of Defense of the Czech Republic, which was signed today in Skopje, was emphasized at the meeting. In this context, it was stressed that the exchange of experiences and enhanced cooperation between the armed forces of the two countries, especially within the North Atlantic Alliance, is a significant contribution to peace, security and stability in the region and beyond.
President Pendarovski and Minister Metnar exchanged information on the current situation in both countries, in terms of dealing with the consequences caused by COVID-19. President Pendarovski emphasized the solidarity between the states, as an important precondition for successful dealing with the pandemic. In that regard, he emphasized the assistance and support that the Republic of North Macedonia receives from the Czech Republic.
