The Wife of the President of the Republic of North Macedonia, Elizabeta Gjorgievska, today in Berovo, together with the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China, Zhang Zuo, and the Minister of Labor and Social Policy, Jagoda Shahpaska, visited the Daily Center for Persons with Mental or Physical Disability within the Inter-Municipal Center for Social Work – Berovo, in anticipation of the implementation of the donation provided by the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China, under the auspices of President Stevo Pendarovski.
It is projected to use the donated funds, in the amount of 1,540,000 Denars, to equip cabinets for physical and hydro-therapy, as well as a sensory room intended for children and persons with autistic spectrum disorders in the Daily Care Center in Berovo.
Appraising the implementation of the project, Mrs. Gjorgievska said that it will contribute to raising the quality of social services received by citizens in this part of the country. According to Mrs. Gjorgievska, it is necessary for all of us to work together to further improve the conditions for people with disabilities and increase their visibility, emphasizing the Daily Center in Berovo as a good example in that direction.
Previously, Mrs. Gjorgievska visited the home for elderly persons “Dr. Ivan Vlashki”, where she was introduced to the work of this institution which currently houses 37 persons.
During her visit to Berovo, Mrs. Gjorgievska visited the Kindergarten “23 August”, where she distributed New Year’s packages for children cared for in this institution.
