President Stevo Pendarovski received today the letters of credence of the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Ecuador to the Republic of North Macedonia, resident in Rome, Miguel Falconi Puig.
In the welcome address at the solemn ceremony, President Pendarovski expressed his belief that the two countries have an interest in further investment of joint efforts for the sake of overall improvement of relations and cooperation on a bilateral and multilateral level.
“I am convinced that your rich experience and successful career will be of particular importance and will contribute to the further intensification of relations between the Republic of North Macedonia and the Republic of Ecuador, creating new opportunities for advancement of bilateral political dialogue, as well as initiatives for strengthening and expanding spheres of cooperation, including the economic, cultural, scientific, educational and other aspects of mutual interest”, President Pendarovski said in his address.
In his address, the Ambassador expressed his willingness to advance the economic and trade cooperation between the two countries, strengthen the dialogue with Macedonian businessmen and advance the overall contractual framework between Ecuador and North Macedonia, in view of deepening the friendly ties.
“The government of Ecuador proposes to start appropriate negotiations for the possible signing of an agreement on visa exemption for the holders of diplomatic, service and official passports, as well as for the appointment of honorary consuls of the two countries based in Quito and Skopje. At the same time, we could continue the negotiations on an agreement to avoid double taxation, an agreement on the protection of investments, a possible exchange of students between the Diplomatic Academy of North Macedonia and the Diplomatic Academy of Ecuador and a memorandum of understanding on multilateral issues”, Ambassador Miguel Falconi Puig said at the ceremony of presenting the letters of credence.
President Pendarovski wished success to the Ambassador and expressed his support in the performance of his diplomatic duty.
