Today, President Stevo Pendarovski presented the “Engineering Ring” award to the twelve most successful students who graduated from the faculties of engineering disciplines in the Republic of North Macedonia.
The “Engineering Ring” event is being held for the 19th time in the organization of the Engineering Institution of Macedonia and the Chamber of Certified Architects and Certified Engineers, under the auspices of the President of the Republic of North Macedonia.
In his address, President Pendarovski emphasized that by awarding this recognition, we all contribute to the affirmation of engineering professions, and that the event itself contributes to the promotion of engineering.
“Mechanical engineers, architects, information scientists, technologists, electrical engineers, construction, agricultural and forestry engineers, winners of the engineering ring, but also all other engineers are the driving force of every country. Those young people already contribute substantially to the Macedonian economy, and thus to the well-being of all our citizens,” said President Pendarovski at the ceremony of awarding the “Engineering Ring” award, which was held in the President’s Cabinet.
Dear engineers,
This year, at the 19th consecutive presentation of engineering rings to the most successful engineering students, I have the special honor to address you as a traditional patron of this significant event.
Allow me, first of all, to sincerely thank the Engineering Institution of Macedonia and the Chamber of Certified Architects and Certified Engineers for their commitment to the realization of this project and, of course, for the excellent cooperation with my office.
Without a doubt, by awarding this recognition, we contribute to the affirmation of engineering professions, and this event itself contributes to the promotion of engineering. From what we have seen over the years at these joint gatherings of ours, as well as from the list of award winners, we proudly witness the rise of quality young engineers who are increasingly appreciated both here and abroad.
Mechanical engineers, architects, information scientists, technologists, electrical engineers, construction, agricultural and forestry engineers, winners of the engineering ring, but also all other engineers are the driving force of every country. Those young people already contribute substantially to the Macedonian economy, and thus to the well-being of all our citizens. I believe that, as is the case in developed countries, and in our country, the importance of engineering professions will be properly valued, and will thus become more and more attractive to young people.
For that to happen, I expect the competent institutions, each within their competences, to contribute to the further development of engineering in our country.
Dear winners of the Engineering Ring award,
At today’s award ceremony, again, I want to express my hope that most of you will continue to upgrade, progress and realize yourself professionally in your native country. For this purpose, we need to open scientific and educational institutions and state institutions and bodies, but above all, economic entities, so that young engineers can implement and use their knowledge and qualities and be professionally rewarded.
The topic of investing in young engineers and in general in young people must not remain only at the level of convenient political rhetoric, but it should also work in practice. We are all fed up with platitudes and nice words, while in reality changes are not happening at the required pace.
We live in complex times with constant tensions, health and economic crises that affect our peace of mind, well-being and quality of life. Let us unite behind good ideas and projects and take advantage of these years to take the right steps towards the development and progress of our homeland. Problems can only be solved with creativity, innovation, perseverance and self-confidence, and in that process the driving force should be our young people, with whose knowledge and skills, energy and motivation we will be able to overcome all challenges.
With a desire for a prosperous, modern and economically strong Republic of North Macedonia in which you will find your place, I congratulate you on receiving the Engineering Ring for 2022 and wish you, above all, good health, much happiness and success in building your engineering careers.
Thank you.
