Spain is our important partner in NATO, the UN and the OSCE and a principled supporter of the Macedonian aspirations for EU membership, President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova said at today’s meeting with the delegation of the Foreign Policy Committee from the Senate of the Kingdom of Spain, accompanied by Ambassador Rafael Soriano Ortiz.
Siljanovska-Davkova pointed out the need to create a mixed Group of Friends in the Spanish Senate and Congress.
She recognizes the underutilized potential for economic cooperation that can be regulated by a bilateral agreement.
The President explained in detail the national positions regarding the EU integration process, reaffirming the country’s commitment to fulfilling the Copenhagen criteria.
Representatives of the Spanish Senate thanked for the conversation and expressed their readiness to further deepen cooperation, as well as support for the European integration.
