President Stevo Pendarovski received today in a farewell meeting Ambassador Samuel Zbogar, Head of the European Union Delegation to the Republic of North Macedonia.
The current situation in the country after the formation of the new Government, as well as the priorities and the implementation of the reforms in the context of the aspirations for membership in the European Union were discussed at the meeting.
President Pendarovski expressed the expectation that the first intergovernmental conference will be held within the current German presidency of the European Union, which will mark the official start of accession negotiations.
Thanking for the overall involvement in the past four years and for his strong efforts for the country’s progress on the European path, President Pendarovski expressed satisfaction that during the Ambassador Zbogar’s term the decision was made by the member states to open accession negotiations with North Macedonia.
Wishing him success in his further professional career, President Pendarovski expressed expectation that Ambassador Zbogar, as a proven friend of our country, will continue to strongly support the aspirations of the Republic of North Macedonia for membership in the European Union.
