Farewell meeting of President Pendarovski with the Greek Ambassador Yannakakis

President Stevo Pendarovski received today in a farewell meeting the Ambassador of the Hellenic Republic, Dimitris Yannakakis.

At the meeting, opinions were exchanged on the overall bilateral relations between the Republic of North Macedonia and the Hellenic Republic, as well as on the potentials and opportunities for their deepening after the signing of the Prespa Agreement.

The Republic of North Macedonia, President Pendarovski said at the meeting, is committed to further development of bilateral relations with the Hellenic Republic in all areas of mutual interest, including economic cooperation and trade, infrastructure, tourism, education and cultural cooperation, in order to build good neighborly relations, based on mutual trust and understanding.

According to President Pendarovski, the two countries, by reaching the Prespa Agreement, in addition to the prospects for development of bilateral cooperation, also contributed to the overall stability and security in the region.

President Pendarovski expressed his expectation that after North Macedonia’s membership in NATO, the support from Greece regarding the country’s aspirations for membership in the European Union will continue.

President Pendarovski thanked for the overall diplomatic efforts of Ambassador Yannakakis, as the first Ambassador of the Hellenic Republic to the Republic of North Macedonia and previously as Head of the Greek Liaison Office in Skopje, and wished him success in his future career.
