President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova received the Head of the Delegation of the European Union, Ambassador Michalis Rokas, who handed her the European Commission Progress Report for 2025.
Ambassador Rokas noted the main problems we are facing, as well as the expected changes.
The interlocutors noted lack of progress in the rule of law, fight against corruption and crime, as well as in the judiciary, emphasizing the need for maximum efforts for reforms in these areas.
The meeting welcomed the positive results within the Growth Plan, the public administration reform, as well as the successes in Clusters 3, 4, 5 and 6.
Siljanovska-Davkova remarked some of the findings in the Report that refer to Cluster 1. She also pointed out the need for the evaluation to be based on the Copenhagen Criteria, and not on the political conditions that we have been facing for two decades.
For Ambassador Rokas, the current moment is the best for bold and decisive steps in reforms, due to the openly expressed will of the EU leaders to support and assist the Macedonian European integration.
