President Stevo Pendarovski received today Jessika Roswall, Minister of EU Affairs of the Kingdom of Sweden, who is visiting the Republic of North Macedonia.
At the meeting, opinions were exchanged on the overall cooperation between the two countries that cultivate friendship and mutual understanding, on the European aspirations of North Macedonia, as well as on the situation in the wider region, in the context of the Russian aggression against Ukraine.
President Pendarovski expressed gratitude for the consistent political and financial support from the Kingdom of Sweden for the Macedonian European integration, noting that the accession negotiations of North Macedonia with the European Union are of key importance for accelerating the reform agenda in the country and positively affect the stability and prosperity of the region.
President Pendarovski expressed his expectation for the continuation of Sweden’s support and commitment to the region during the current Swedish presidency of the Council of the European Union.
President Pendarovski reaffirmed North Macedonia’s support for Sweden’s recent membership in NATO, which will contribute to the overall stability of the European continent.
