President Stevo Pendarovski met today in Davos with Joseph Stiglitz, a professor at Columbia University and winner of the Nobel Prize in Economics.
The meeting discussed the world economic trends, the socio-economic recovery from the pandemic and the new challenges facing the global economy due to Russia’s military invasion of Ukraine.
The interlocutors exchanged views on the possible outcomes of the crisis in the global economy, rising inflation and price pressures, macroeconomic implications worldwide, in the European economy and in our country, as well as the impact on politics.
President Pendarovski welcomed the Stiglitz-led Political Dialogue Initiative, which aims to help developing countries explore economic policy alternatives and enable wider civic participation in economic policy-making.
