President Stevo Pendarovski, within the framework of the “Face to Face with the President” project, visited Struga and Ohrid today.
In Struga, President Pendarovski visited the “Snegar” sailing club, where he was introduced to the club’s overall activities, which, in addition to training for sports sailing, include shipbuilding and making of sailing models. The members of the club informed President Pendarovski of their participation in domestic and international competitions.
President Pendarovski expressed recognition for the enthusiasm with which the management and members of the club maintain the tradition of sailing in Struga. He wished the club members success in their future activities.
In Ohrid, President Pendarovski had a meeting with chronicler Zdravko Tupare and photographer Petar Boev.
Tupare introduced President Pendarovski to his recently published work “Vessels and rowing through the history of Lake Ohrid and beyond in Macedonia”. President Pendarovski said that Tupare’s commitment to the promotion and development of water sports and his love for the lake, which he expresses in his ninth decade of life, should be an incentive for the young generations to engage in water sports.
Boev, on the other hand, presented to President Pendarovski his many years of photographic work, in which the main motif is Ohrid and Lake Ohrid. Some of his works are contained in the publication “Ohrid – on the shore of the eternal lake”. President Pendarovski said that Boev’s unique work should serve as a challenge for all photographers to continue capturing moments through their lenses.
