President Stevo Pendarovski visited today the villages of Teovo, Bogomila and Gorno Vranovci within the municipality of Caska, as part of the “Face to face with the President” project.

In Teovo, President Pendarovski was presented with a maple which is supposed to have been planted in the 15th century, which is a symbol of the village and one of the oldest trees in the country. The President was informed that due to its age and specifics, a decision was made to declare this sycamore tree as a natural rarity, under the authority of the municipality of Caska, and he was informed about the measures taken for protection, revitalization and maintenance of the maple tree. In the talks with local residents, it was pointed out that these rare trees, in addition to being a monument of nature, also have a cultural-historical value created over the centuries, which every generation has an obligation to preserve.

President Pendarovski had the opportunity to talk with the residents of Teovo about their everyday life in the village, about the challenges they face, and to hear their thoughts on topical issues in the country.

In the village of Bogomila, President Pendarovski visited the memorial house of the famous Macedonian social scientist, publicist and ideologist of the revolutionary liberation movement and one of the founders of TMORO, Petar Pop Arsov. The President was informed by the historian and curator Marin Klifov and the director of the Veles National Museum, Angel Korunovski, that in 1986, the house was preserved and a museum display was installed, and in the same year it was declared a cultural heritage of the state. During the review of the documented records, objects and photographs, it was emphasized that in addition to being a recognition and honor for the work of the Macedonian revolutionary, the memorial house is also an important segment in the tourist potential of Bogomila, which is why it was renovated and reconstructed twenty years ago, preserving the authentic architecture.

In the village of Gorno Vranovci, President Pendarovski visited the Partisan Printing House “Goce Delcev”, where the first issue of the newspaper “Nova Makedonija” was printed, the Memorial Museum of the Presidium of ASNOM, as well as the Memorial Museum of the Main Headquarters of NOB and PO of Macedonia. During the visit, it was pointed out that the five memorial houses in Gorno Vranovci, which represent memorial museums, bear witness to a significant historical period of the anti-fascist national liberation struggle and it is necessary to constantly raise awareness to maintain the authenticity of the buildings and preserve the museum settings therein.
