A meeting of experts in law and constitutional law was held this evening in the President’s Office at the request of political leaders attending the leadership meeting earlier this day to determine the legal aspects of the decision to postpone the elections scheduled for April 12 this year.
At the beginning of the meeting, President Pendarovski greeted the attendees and thanked them for their engagement. University professors, Dr. Svetomir Skaric, Dr. Gordana Siljanovska – Davkova, Dr. Renata Deskoska, Dr. Tanja Karakamisheva – Jovanovska, Dr. Jeton Shasivari, Ass. Dr. Aleksandar Lj. Spasov and Ass. Dr. Denis Presova, considered the legal aspects of postponing parliamentary elections scheduled for April 12.
The meeting discussed several possible solutions deriving from the Constitution of the Republic of North Macedonia. The consultations on the manner of postponement of the elections will continue in the coming days.
The President of the Assembly, Talat Xhaferi and the President of the Government, Oliver Spasovski, were also present at the meeting.
