President Stevo Pendarovski received today representatives of the Association for Promotion of the Rights of Musicians “Music Now”.
The representatives of the Association “Music Now” informed President Pendarovski about the challenges and difficulties faced by musicians due to the COVID-19 pandemic. At the meeting, they stressed the need for urgent revision of all protocols concerning musicians and music workers. The representatives of this Association said that they want to have meetings with the Commission for Infectious Diseases to review the current situation and current problems faced by the members of this Association, as well as other associations in related fields. They announced that they will submit a proposal to the Government and the Ministry of Culture to organize music events throughout the country with municipal money, in order to decentralize culture, as well as a request for greater and fair representation of Macedonian musicians in the media. As an urgent request, the representatives of the Association stressed the need for help from families where both spouses work in the field of music.
President Pendarovski pointed out that only through a responsible approach, exclusively in accordance with the current situation, which implies strict adherence to health protocols, to seek and find solutions for the work of the affected musicians and music workers.
The Association for the Promotion of the Rights of Musicians “Music Now”, which has been operating since July 2020 and has about 2000 members and supporters, was established to fulfill long-term plans, ideas and programs that would contribute to the overall raising of the cultural and music scene in the Republic of North Macedonia.
