President Stevo Pendarovski received today representatives of the Chess Federation of Macedonia.
The meeting discussed the current activities of the Federation, the participation in international competitions, the organization of European and world championships in our country, as well as the importance of producing properly trained staff for development and support of chess. Emphasizing the benefits of the affirmation of this sport among young people, the representatives of the CFM shared their experiences from the implementation of the “Chess in Schools” project, which, as they pointed out, has been highly rated by the World Chess Organization (FIDE). Today’s visit was an opportunity for President Pendarovski, during a game of chess, to talk with the 8-year-old Nina Minovska, a student at “Kiro Gligorov” primary school, who studies chess as an optional subject, and with the 15-year-old Anton Zlatkov, champion in all categories and a member of the youth national team who shared the achieved successes. The President told the young chess players to nurture their talent, wishing them great chess achievements in the future.
