The President of the Republic of North Macedonia, Stevo Pendarovski, on the margins of the Summit of the South-East European Cooperation Process, held bilateral meetings with the representatives of the participating countries at the Summit.
At the meeting with the President of the Republic of Albania, Ilir Meta, views were exchanged on the overall bilateral relations between the two countries, which are friendly and mark positive development with a continuous dialogue.
The two presidents concluded that North Macedonia and Albania share the same foreign policy goals and in this context stressed the need for the European Union to evaluate the efforts of both countries by setting a date for the start of accession negotiations for membership as an important precondition for stability in the region.
At the meeting with the President of Montenegro, Milo Djukanovic, it was concluded that the two countries foster excellent political relations and share the same foreign policy priorities. The two presidents expressed readiness to intensify the cooperation between the two countries, within the regional initiatives and on a multilateral basis. President Pendarovski expressed his gratitude for the ratification of the Protocol for Accession of the Republic of North Macedonia to NATO in the Parliament of Montenegro.
At the meeting with the Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Milorad Dodik, views were exchanged on the overall bilateral relations between the Republic of North Macedonia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as on the latest developments in the region. The interlocutors reiterated their efforts to further deepen bilateral cooperation in the political and economic spheres, as well as in relation to the European integration.
At the meeting with the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Borut Pahor, President Pendarovski thanked for the open and constructive support from Slovenia for the aspirations of North Macedonia for EU and NATO membership, confirmed by the ratification of the protocol for membership of the country in the Alliance by the Slovenian Parliament.
President Pendarovski in Sarajevo takes part in the Summit of Heads of State and Government of the participating countries in the South East European Cooperation Process (SEECP), where he addressed the Summit’s plenary session.
