After several months of interruption due to the COVID-19 pandemic, from yesterday afternoon in Bitola, the implementation of the “Face to Face with the President” project continues. During the visit to the municipality, President Stevo Pendarovski met with prominent individuals and representatives of legal entities, who, with their talent and through the implementation of their ideas, contribute to the development of Bitola, but also to the society as a whole.
Combining their shared ideas, Nikola Tancevski and Zlate Veljanovski conduct the project for production of nano bio-polymer. In the discussion with President Pendarovski, they explained that this liquid preparation can greatly reduce air pollution. The nano bio-polymer, as Tancevski said, absorbs and prevents the emission of PM 2.5 and PM 10 particles, which are created during construction works, road construction or surface ore excavation. This innovation is produced by the company Bizifaj from environmentally friendly polymers from renewable sources.
“Everyone’s success must be respected and emphasized. But, when someone is only 9 years old and has a huge talent, it is necessary for that gift to be properly valued”, President Pendarovski said, listening to the performance on a bagpipe by the young man from Bitola, Teodor Grujoski. Teodor, at this year’s festival of folk instruments and songs “Pece Atanasovski”, in a competition of over 50 competitors of different ages, won the highest award, the bagpipe of Pece Atanasovski. He inherited the love for music, as he says, from his grandfather, and then from his father. He attends lower music school, and, in addition to the bagpipe, Teodor also plays piano, flute, tambourine and accordion.
President Pendarovski also visited the workshop of YouTuber Marjanco Atanasovski. Marjanco, from old, unusable devices, makes various parts or fully functional electronic devices, records this process, and then publishes the videos on his YouTube channel. Hacktuber has about 1.2 million followers, and Marjanco’s videos have a total of 207.5 million views so far.
“I am really surprised how Marjanco is less known in his hometown, Bitola, compared to his popularity in the world. Moreover, I am fascinated by Marjanco’s patience and love for electronics”, President Pendarovski said at the meeting with YouTuber Marjanco Atanasovski.
An inevitable part of “Face to Face with the President” in Bitola was the meeting with representatives of regional and local media and journalists – correspondents for the national media. Talking about the current challenges they face, the journalists highlighted the financial problems, as well as the reduction of the correspondent network. At the meeting, President Pendarovski expressed support for the media and stressed the need to raise public awareness of the importance of regional and local media, given their role and contribution to media literacy, timely and professional sharing of information about the region they come from.
The “Face to Face with the President” project allows citizens from different settlements in North Macedonia to have the opportunity to meet with President Pendarovski and personally speak of the problems and the ideas for overcoming them, the challenges they face every day, as well as to acquaint him with the local success stories that often are important to the whole country and beyond.
