President Stevo Pendarovski sent a message to the participants and organizers of the Ohrid Ultra-Trail mountain running race, which will be held from 18 to 20 September in the National Park “Galichica” and the Ohrid-Prespa region.
Wishing success in the realization of the race, President Pendarovski said in the message that its maintenance, despite the challenges due to the Covid-19 pandemic, speaks of perseverance, team spirit and solidarity of the participants and organizers of the event.
“Due to the measures to deal with the Covid-19 pandemic, many sporting events around the world have been postponed or canceled. However, instead of being an excuse to neglect sports, the health crisis is a reason to invest more in sports and physical activity as a prerequisite for a healthy life. The healthier individuals and communities, the more stable societies and more dynamic economies”, reads the message from President Pendarovski.
“We believe that sports competitions and races, especially at a time of physical and social distance, can help us build an inclusive society in which there is a place for every person. We need the sports values of respect, fair play, equality and friendship more than ever. These are positive values based on which we should motivate all generations, especially our youth”, President Pendarovski wrote in the message.
Ohrid Ultra-Trail is an international outdoor sports event that is held once a year in the National Park “Galichica” and the Ohrid-Prespa region.
