President Stevo Pendarovski, as part of his official visit to the Hellenic Republic, met today in Athens with the Prime Minister of the Hellenic Republic, Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
At the meeting, the interlocutors exchanged views on the overall bilateral relations between the Republic of North Macedonia and the Hellenic Republic, and it was assessed that the official visit at the highest level marks an important moment in the development of relations between the two countries.
President Pendarovski assessed that there is a significant improvement in bilateral relations between the two countries after the signing of the Prespa Agreement, with the potential for further strengthening of cooperation in every field of mutual interest.
At the meeting, President Pendarovski stressed that the full potential should be used and the two countries should build a real strategic partnership.
The interlocutors discussed the possibilities for further strengthening of the economic cooperation and expressed satisfaction with the increased trade. President Pendarovski expressed confidence that economic cooperation should be the foundation of relations between the two countries, taking into account the benefits both economies. In that regard, the need for further development of the infrastructural connection between the two countries was stressed.
President Pendarovski expressed gratitude for the strong support that the Hellenic Republic gives to the aspirations of the Republic of North Macedonia for membership in the European Union, assessing that the unblocking of the process will contribute to the stability and progress of the entire region.
