President Stevo Pendarovski received today representatives of the Youth Association of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing “Mlad Znak” from Skopje.
At the meeting, the members of the association informed about the current activities and initiatives in view of implementing the basic human rights of people whose main means of communication is sign language. Moreover, they emphasized the still present barriers they face when engaging in social processes, especially the limited access to health services, as an essential challenge that requires comprehensive permanent solutions.
The representatives of “Mlad Znak” thanked President Pendarovski for his personal contribution to raising public awareness and affirmation of the right to sign language.
Expressing his support for the youth association’s efforts, President Pendarovski emphasized the importance of institutional proactivity and individual responsibility, as key prerequisites for a dignified life for every citizen.
