President Stevo Pendarovski received today representatives of the National Union of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing of the Republic of North Macedonia and the Folklore Association of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing “Tradition Folklore”.
The representatives of the Union acquainted President Pendarovski with the current activities of the organization, which has been representing the rights and interests of the deaf and hard of hearing people in our country for 75 years, and unites about 8,000 members.
President Pendarovski stressed the importance of the Union’s activities to meet the needs and rights of the deaf and hard of hearing, efforts to promote and raise awareness of the existence of this group of citizens and their acceptance in society and expressed support for the efforts to further improve their position in all spheres of life.
At the meeting, President Pendarovski was introduced to the activities of the Folklore Association of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing “Tradition Folklore”, established in 2019 within the National Union of the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
“Folklore is a historical and cultural heritage for the deaf and hard of hearing in the Republic of North Macedonia”, President Pendarovski said using the sign language.
