The President of the Republic of North Macedonia, Stevo Pendarovski, was received today in Zagreb with state and military honors by the President of the Republic of Croatia, Zoran Milanovic, which marked the beginning of his two-day official visit to the Republic of Croatia.
After the tete-a-tete meeting of President Pendarovski and President Milanovic, the delegations of the Republic of North Macedonia and of the Republic of Croatia held a plenary meeting which confirmed the sincere friendly relations and fruitful political dialogue between the two countries. Moreover, opinions were exchanged on several aspects of bilateral relations, the constant interest in their further deepening was reaffirmed, and among other things, the interlocutors discussed issues of importance for the European future of the Republic of North Macedonia and the Western Balkans.
Croatia is a constant supporter of our European integration and during the visit of President Pendarovski it is expected the support for North Macedonia to start accession negotiations with the European Union to be reaffirmed.
Today, President Pendarovski will also meet with the Speaker of the Parliament of the Republic of Croatia, Gordan Jandrokovic, and the Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia, Andrej Plenkovic.
On Thursday – July 1, 2021, President Pendarovski will address the bilateral business meeting – with a focus on investments, organized in cooperation with the Croatian Chamber of Commerce, which will be attended by a Macedonian business delegation.
