President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova received today Risto Durlovski, President of the organization “United Macedonians in Canada”.
At the meeting, she once again confirmed her determination to establish a Diaspora Council, as a political step forward in cooperation between the state and the expatriates. In the Council, the President sees an institutional response to the need for enhanced and deepened communication with our emigrants in all areas.
Durlovski said that the primary goal of the Organization is promotion and protection of the rights of Macedonians in Canada, as well as their integration into the Canadian democratic society. For him, Macedonian roots are a strong motivation for supporting Macedonian national interests.
The interlocutors agreed that the numerous Macedonian diaspora can be a factor in strengthening Canadian-Macedonian political, economic, cultural and other relations.
