President Pendarovski awards certificates to participants in the first School of Policies

President Stevo Pendarovski awarded today the certificates to the participants in the School of Policies within the Presidential Center for Political Education for 2021.

The School was realized through 4 educational seminars in the period from March to November 2021, with the participation of eminent lecturers and trainers from the country and abroad. The School was attended by 41 participants, aged 25 to 35 years. They were selected through a public competition, based on their interest in active participation in social life, professional qualifications and professional achievements.

“The composition and achievements of this first generation confirm that the School is on the right track to meet its goal. Selected as participants in an open call based on personal achievements and merits, respecting the diversity of our society, you have shown, regardless of personal, social, political and other differences, that the Macedonian society has the capacity for democratic development and unification on key strategic goals of the state”, President Pendarovski said at the awarding of the certificates.

The participants of the School of Policies had the opportunity to improve their knowledge in the field of democratic development of the political system, functioning of the rule of law, European integration, socio-economic development and economic policies in the era of political and economic globalization, foreign policy strategies and priorities of our country and in the region, NATO membership and the security aspect, as well as political communication in times of digital transformation, disinformation campaigns and fake news, and the need for greater transparency and internal democratization of government institutions. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, some of the trainings within the School were organized online, and some with physical presence or in a hybrid format.

“This first edition of the School of Policies has set itself an ambitious task. In complex health conditions to form a group of participants which, in a period of several months, will study together and discuss the most important issues of our social life. Therefore, I would like to thank the participants from the bottom of my heart for their commitment to work within the School”, said Prof. Dr. Aleksandar Lj. Spasov, President of the Program Council of the Presidential Center for Political Education and Advisor to the President on Foreign Policy, Internal Policy and Constitutional Affairs.

The School of Policies within the Presidential Center for Political Education was implemented in collaboration with the Friedrich Ebert Foundation, the Westminster Foundation for Democracy, the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, the National Democratic Institute for International Affairs, the International Republican Institute, and the Macedonia2025 Foundation.
