President Pendarovski meets with Croatian Prime Minister Plenkovic

President Stevo Pendarovski, as part of his official visit to the Republic of Croatia, met today in Zagreb with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia, Andrej Plenkovic.

At the meeting, satisfaction was expressed with the development of bilateral relations between the two countries and their friendly character was emphasized, the continuous exchange of bilateral visits and meetings at the highest level, as well as constructive cooperation in various spheres of mutual interest.

At the same time, it was assessed that the two countries have excellent cooperation in regional and multilateral terms, with emphasis on the alliance in NATO, where our country is firmly committed to promoting and sharing common values and responsibilities.

In the context of further deepening of bilateral cooperation, President Pendarovski welcomed the idea of holding the first joint session of the governments of the two countries, which would discuss future directions of cooperation.

Referring to the latest developments related to the integration of the Republic of North Macedonia into the European Union, President Pendarovski expressed gratitude for the principled support of the Republic of Croatia for the immediate start of accession negotiations for EU membership.

Information on the ongoing vaccination process against Covid-19 was exchanged at the meeting. In that context, President Pendarovski thanked the Croatian government for its intention to donate 10,000 doses of the Astra Zeneka vaccine to our country.

President Pendarovski also stressed the interest of our country to intensify economic cooperation and trade with the Republic of Croatia, for which there are untapped opportunities.
