Presentation of credentials by the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania to the Republic of North Macedonia

President Stevo Pendarovski held a video conference call today with Jurate Raguckienė, the newly appointed Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania to the Republic of North Macedonia, resident in Zagreb.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Ambassador Raguckienė handed over her credentials in writing instead during a protocol ceremony in the President’s Office.

Congratulating on her appointment, President Pendarovski expressed confidence that the engagement of Ambassador Raguckienė would make a significant contribution to the further strengthening of the cooperation between the two countries in all areas of mutual interest. In that context, the interlocutors expressed satisfaction with the good and friendly political relations, reaffirming the readiness of both countries to further deepen and enhance the cooperation, especially in the economic field, trade exchange and investment cooperation.

Referring to the strategic aspirations of the Republic of North Macedonia for membership in the European Union, President Pendarovski expressed gratitude for the open and strong support from Lithuania on our Euro-Atlantic path.

The interlocutors also exchanged views on the current situation with the COVID-19 pandemic in both countries, as well as on dealing with the challenges from the health and socio-economic aspect.

The President wished success to the Ambassador of Lithuania in performing this responsible duty, emphasizing that in that direction she will enjoy full support and assistance of our institutions.
