At the invitation of the civil movement AVAJA, President Stevo Pendarovski attended the reception and the diplomatic dinner on the occasion of April 8 – International Roma Day.
During the diplomatic dinner, a discussion titled “Priorities for Promoting the Integration of Roma in North Macedonia” took place. During the discussion, the results so far and the work of this movement were presented and the possibilities for promoting the integration of the Roma in the country were considered. The discussion took place on three topics: equitable representation in state and public administration, census and the new Strategy for Roma.
Congratulating the International Roma Day, President Pendarovski stressed that the Roma community is an inseparable part of the multicultural mosaic in the country and has been contributing to its construction for years. President Pendarovski stressed that the new Strategy for Roma is a step forward towards achieving concrete results in order to promote the integration of Roma, which requires joint engagement of all stakeholders in the country.
The event was also attended by the Prime Minister of the Republic of North Macedonia, Dimitar Kovacevski, the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Political System and Inter-Community Relations, Artan Grubi, and representatives of the diplomatic corps in the country.
