President Stevo Pendarovski received today the Deputy Prime Minister in charge of Fight against Corruption and Crime, Sustainable Development and Human Resources, Ljupco Nikolovski.
At the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister Nikolovski informed President Pendarovski about the measures in the adopted Anti-Corruption Plan.
President Pendarovski welcomed the system of measures and expressed expectation that they will enable effective prevention and fight against corruption.
“The fight against crime and corruption is extremely important in the process of European integration, in building the rule of law and in gaining the trust of citizens in the institutions. In order to achieve results in this process, full transparency, appropriate legal solutions and sanctions, as well as contribution from all institutions are necessary”, President Pendarovski said at the meeting.
In that regard, the Cabinet of the President, President Pendarovski said, is ready to adequately support the measures of the new Anti-Corruption Plan.
In parallel with the fundamental institutional changes, President Pendarovski pointed out that an important segment in the fight against corruption is raising public awareness and encouraging citizens to report cases of corruption.
