The President of the Republic of North Macedonia, Stevo Pendarovski, attended today the presentation of the developed prototypes of the student program Innovations in Smart Anything Everywhere (INNO-SAE 2019), held at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies at the University “Ss. Cyril and Methodius” – Skopje.
The Innovations in Smart Anything Everywhere (INNO-SAE 2019) student program is an initiative of the INOFEIT Center for Transfer of Technologies and Innovation to demonstrate the innovative capacity of UKIM students, while the prototype presentation was realized by seven teams, including students from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technologies, Faculty of Information Science and Computer Engineering, Faculty of Architecture, Faculty of Economics, Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Philosophy and Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Food.
President Pendarovski in his address, noting that such inter-institutional and inter-faculty cooperation is rarely encountered, stressed that such an interdisciplinary approach is more productive. He said that this pioneering venture should be followed by other universities across the country.
“Let’s just give these young minds a chance, space, time and resources and all we need to do is to follow them, nothing more than that”, President Pendarovski said.
The President also referred to the state’s policy towards education and science and assessed that as a state we spend little for education, and even less for allocating funds from the budget for research and development.
