President Pendarovski marks the beginning of the work of the General Staff of the South-East Europe Brigade in Kumanovo

This afternoon in Kumanovo, President Stevo Pendarovski marked the beginning of the work of the General Staff of the South-East Europe Brigade (SEEBRIG), which will be located in the “Boro Menkov” barracks for the next six years.

After handing over the post of SEEBRIG Commander, President Pendarovski, together with the Prime Minister Oliver Spasovski, the Minister of Defense Radmila Sekerinska and the Chairman of the Coordination Committee of the SEDM Process, Petro Kochi, inaugurated the renovated and equipped building within the “Boro Menkov” barracks, which will be the headquarters of the General Staff of the Brigade until 2026.

The Republic of North Macedonia will host the SEEBRIG Command, established in 1999, with members Northern Macedonia, Albania, Bulgaria, Greece, Romania and Turkey. The brigade operates within SEDM – a process of cooperation between the Ministries of Defense in South-East Europe.

The location of the command is determined on the basis of rotation, and its previous hosts were Plovdiv, Constanta, Istanbul and Larissa.
