President Stevo Pendarovski received today Besa Ademi, President of the Supreme Court of the Republic of North Macedonia.
President Pendarovski, congratulating the election of the President of the Supreme Court, stressed the importance of the role of the Supreme Court in the unification of case law through the competence to determine principled positions and principled legal opinions, thus ensuring unity in the application of laws by the courts.
At the meeting, President Pendarovski said that one of the most important segments in the European integration of the country is the efficient functioning of the rule of law and independent, impartial and professional judiciary is the best guarantor for achieving this goal.
The interlocutors also discussed the challenges in achieving financial independence of the judiciary, as well as the staffing of the Supreme Court.
President Pendarovski expressed his full support for the independence of the judiciary and expressed readiness for cooperation in all areas where it is necessary and requested by the Supreme Court.
