The interlocutors exchanged views and information on current developments related to the start of accession negotiations of our country for membership in the European Union. They sent a message that it is necessary to hold the first intergovernmental conference between the European Union and North Macedonia as soon as possible since any further delay will undermine the credibility of the EU enlargement process.

President Pendarovski emphasized that we highly appreciate the Austrian, Slovenian and Czech constant and loud support within the European institutions for our integration into the European Union.

In this context, the President stressed the importance of the recent meeting of the Brdo-Brijuni Process, which adopted a joint declaration, and sent a strong message about the importance of the enlargement process, which must be faster and not focus only on individual countries, but the whole region of the Western Balkans.
