The President of the Republic of North Macedonia, Stevo Pendarovski, received today a delegation from the American Chamber of Commerce in Macedonia.
At the meeting, they exchanged views on the overall economic situation in North Macedonia, the opportunities for doing business, as well as the opportunities for investing in the country.
President Pendarovski said at the meeting that the focus of his work is to improve the economic situation in the country and to ensure that the needs of businessmen in North Macedonia are properly articulated before state institutions and during his visits abroad.
At the meeting, President Pendarovski pointed out that politicians should contribute to creating a favorable business climate.
President Pendarovski informed the participants that at the initiative of the Cabinet of the President, a team of practitioners is working on creating a strategic document, aimed to set the priorities for the development of the economy in the next decade, i.e. for the period 2020 – 2030. He urged chamber officials to get involved with their suggestions in drafting the document, noting that politicians should listen and follow the needs of economists and businessmen.
The fact that North Macedonia is on the verge of full membership in NATO and start of accession negotiations with the European Union, according to President Pendarovski, will further affirm the state as a stable and secure place for doing business and a predictable destination for investment.
President Pendarovski urged the representatives of the American Chamber of Commerce in Macedonia to get involved with their proposals and suggestions in drafting legal solutions in the field of economy, in order to adopt quality laws and to improve the conditions for doing business in the country.
