The President of the Republic of North Macedonia,
Stevo Pendarovski, accompanied by his wife, Elizabeta Gjorgievska, received
representatives of the International Inclusive Drama Festival “Games without
Masks 2019”, to be held for the sixth time in Skopje in November, organized by
the Citizens’ Association “A World of Different but Equal” from Skopje.
The Executive Director of the Festival, Gordana Simonovska Momiroska, and the Artistic Director of the Festival, Snezana Koneska Rusi, briefed President Pendarovski on the planned preparatory activities ahead of the four-day festival, which will include participants from North Macedonia, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo and Bulgaria.
The aim of the project is realization of the legal right of the persons with disabilities for their active involvement in cultural events, implementation of inclusive trainings and workshops for their preparation and participation in drama, music and stage performances with final presentation on the theater stage.
President Pendarovski expressed strong support for the festival and expectation that individuals, institutions and socially responsible companies will be involved in the implementation of the project, which will contribute to raising the awareness of the citizens to accept people with disabilities in their immediate and daily life.
Target groups are beneficiaries of institutions for care of people with disabilities, students in regular and special schools, users of homes and care centers, as well as members of non-governmental organizations from the country and abroad.
