As part of his participation in the 58th Munich Security Conference, President Stevo Pendarovski had a meeting with the President of the Republic of Slovenia, Borut Pahor, which reaffirmed the excellent bilateral relations, without open issues, based on traditional friendship, strong strategic partnership and long-term constructive cooperation and support.
The Presidents addressed the possibilities for overcoming the challenges to start accession negotiations with the EU, emphasizing the fact that the success of the enlargement policy will depend on the Macedonian case. President Pendarovski thanked for the principled and continuous support for the European future of North Macedonia, especially loud during the recent Slovenian presidency of the Council of the Union.
President Pendarovski informed about the latest developments in that context and the dynamics envisaged between the two new governments, stressing that North Macedonia will work dedicatedly to find a European, dignified solution to the bilateral challenges with Bulgria. According to President Pendarovski, the opening of accession negotiations for membership of the Republic of North Macedonia with the European Union will positively contribute to the prosperity and stability of the entire region, and will give additional impetus to the overall reform process in the country.
