President Stevo Pendarovski received today the Chairman of the NATO Military Committee, Admiral Rob Bauer, who is on an official visit to the Republic of North Macedonia.
The meeting discussed the process of transformation, equipping and modernization of the Macedonian army and participation in international operations and exercises.
The interlocutors discussed the cooperation between North Macedonia and NATO, the current regional and security issues, and exchanged opinions and information on the situation in Ukraine and the role of the Alliance in defending the Ukrainian people from Russian military aggression. In that context, President Pendarovski reaffirmed his support for Ukraine and the Ukrainian people, pointing out that North Macedonia, as a member of NATO, will continue to provide military, humanitarian and diplomatic aid within the limits of its possibilities, with the ultimate goal of putting an end to the military aggression.
President Pendarovski and Admiral Bauer stated that the Alliance should continue its efforts to support Ukraine in order to stabilize the situation in the entire Euro-Atlantic area.
President Pendarovski expressed readiness for further promotion of cooperation and strengthening of the NATO alliance in the direction of fulfilling common goals for collective security and peace on the European continent.
