President Stevo Pendarovski received this afternoon at Villa Biljana in Ohrid the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Admiral Robert Bauer, who is paying an official visit to the Republic of North Macedonia.
The meeting discussed the transformation processes of the Army of the Republic of North Macedonia, the participation in international operations and exercises, as well as its contribution to dealing with the pandemic caused by the corona virus and the migrant crisis.
The interlocutors exchanged views on the cooperation between North Macedonia and the Netherlands, noting that NATO membership opens new opportunities for intensification of military and defense cooperation between the two countries.
President Pendarovski said that North Macedonia will continue to strengthen its relations with the Netherlands and in that regard thanked for the long-term open support in assisting the Macedonian society in the reforms needed for successful completion of NATO membership and EU membership negotiations.
