President Stevo Pendarovski received the Minister of Culture of the Republic of North Macedonia, Irena Stefoska.
At the meeting, Minister Stefoska informed President Pendarovski about the current activities and priorities of the Ministry, the current situation in public cultural institutions and the need for institutional reforms in order to consistently implement the concept of open institutions.
In that direction, the possibilities for implementation of new initiatives in culture and art were considered, which will establish a bridge between the cultural heritage and the contemporary cultural practices.
The interlocutors also exchanged views on the possible ways to help all cultural workers in dealing with the aftermath caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
President Pendarovski stressed that despite all the challenges, it is of great importance to maintain the cultural integration and the spirit of creativity, by adapting cultural events in accordance with the new rules imposed by the pandemic.
President Pendarovski expressed support for the creation of an independent cultural space and its strengthening, through the implementation of development cultural policies, as well as support for the promotion of cultural diplomacy, in order to affirm the cultural heritage of our country in the region and beyond.
