President Pendarovski meets with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic, Nikos Dendias

President Stevo Pendarovski received today Nikos Dendias, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Hellenic Republic, who is paying a visit to the Republic of North Macedonia.

During the talks, President Pendarovski and Minister Dendias exchanged views on the bilateral relations between North Macedonia and Greece, the situation in the region, as well as on the developments and the current situation in Afghanistan.

The interlocutors expressed satisfaction with the dynamics of the political dialogue between the two countries in the past period, and in this context, President Pendarovski announced that preparations are underway for the first official visit to Greece, scheduled for next month. President Pendarovski expressed expectation that it will contribute to an even more dynamic dialogue and further enhancement of the cooperation between the Republic of North Macedonia and the Hellenic Republic.

At the same time, referring to the bilateral relations, President Pendarovski expressed satisfaction with the level of economic cooperation between the two countries, which is marking significant progress, noting that the signing of the Prespa Agreement not only normalized political relations, but also has a positive impact on overall economic relations between the two countries.

In the context of the implementation of the Prespa Agreement, President Pendarovski pointed out that its further implementation is necessary, as well as engagement from both sides to ensure fast and smooth continuation of the work of the established bodies with the Agreement.

In addition, during the talks, the interlocutors exchanged views and information on the process of the Macedonian European integration, and, expressing gratitude for the Greek support in that regard, President Pendarovski said that the adoption of the negotiation framework remains our priority.

At the meeting, President Pendarovski thanked for the Greek donation of 20,000 vaccines against Covid-19, as well as for the assistance provided in dealing with the fires in Gevgelija at the beginning of this month.
