The President of the Republic of North Macedonia, Stevo Pendarovski, received today Laima Andrikiene, Head of the OSCE/ODIHR Special Election Assessment Mission for the early parliamentary elections in the Republic of North Macedonia, scheduled for July 15, 2020.

At the meeting, President Pendarovski was informed about the planned activities of the mission, composed of nine experts, tasked to monitor the election process.

Expressing his gratitude for the rapid deployment of the assessment mission, President Pendarovski reaffirmed his expectation that the elections would be conducted according to the highest standards and criteria, as befits a NATO member state and a candidate country for membership in the European Union, which should start accession negotiations.

At the meeting, President Pendarovski expressed support for the work of the mission and expressed confidence that their engagement will contribute to a successful election process, which due to the COVID-19 pandemic will take place in specific conditions.
