The President of the Republic of North Macedonia, Stevo Pendarovski, after his address at the Global Security Forum “GLOBSEC 2020” in Bratislava, this afternoon, at the Presidential Palace, met with Zuzana Caputova, President of the Slovak Republic.
President Pendarovski stressed that the two countries have good bilateral relations, and the Slovak experience from the EU accession process will be helpful for North Macedonia in conducting accession negotiations. As allies in NATO, President Pendarovski expressed confidence that the current good cooperation in defense and security will continue.
In the context of the need to strengthen regional cooperation, President Pendarovski said that the successful model of the Visegrad Group countries is an extremely useful example for the Western Balkan countries.
The interlocutors discussed the activities undertaken so far related to the COVID-19 pandemic, and agreed that a joint response is needed to better address the health and economic aspects imposed by this global challenge.
