President Stevo Pendarovski received today the Ambassador of Ukraine, Natalia Zadorozhnyuk.
The current developments in both countries were discussed at the meeting, in the context of the situation with the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as the measures taken to overcome the health, economic and social consequences thereof.
The interlocutors exchanged views on the overall bilateral relations between the two countries, as well as on the potential for their advancement. The meeting assessed that the political relations between the countries are characterized by a spirit of friendship and trust and there is cooperation in several areas of mutual interest.
President Pendarovski stressed the interest in advancing the overall cooperation between the two countries, especially in the economic field, given the potential that the free trade agreement between the two countries offers.
At the meeting, Ambassador Zadorozhnyuk handed over to President Pendarovski a congratulatory message from the Ukrainian President, Volodymyr Zelensky, on the occasion of September 8, Independence Day, which reads as follows:
please accept my sincere congratulations on behalf of the people of Ukraine and on my personal behalf on the occasion of the Independence Day of the Republic of North Macedonia.
I appreciate the traditionally friendly relations between our countries and I am grateful for the support of North Macedonia regarding the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine.
I am convinced that the common priorities of European and Euro-Atlantic integration are a solid basis for effective realization of the existing potential of our bilateral cooperation.
Taking this solemn occasion, I wish you, Your Excellency, good health and success in the responsible state activities, and to the friendly people of North Macedonia – peace and harmony.
