The President of the Republic of North Macedonia, Stevo Pendarovski, received today Colonel Zoran Jankovic, Head of the NATO Liaison Office in Skopje.
At the meeting, they exchanged views on the current situation in the Republic of North Macedonia, as well as on the country’s cooperation with NATO, in the context of the aspirations for membership in the Alliance.
President Pendarovski said at the meeting that full membership of North Macedonia in NATO would complete one of the main strategic commitments of the state, which would contribute to its overall development, and would positively affect the stability and prosperity of the region.
President Pendarovski voiced expectation that member states’ ratification of the NATO Accession Protocol would be completed shortly, thus making the Republic of North Macedonia the 30th member of the most successful military-political alliance.
President Pendarovski emphasized the role of the NATO Liaison Office in Skopje in the process of North Macedonia’s accession to NATO and the fulfillment of the criteria and standards for full membership.
